Making a home.

These clients were a lovely young family who had recently moved into their beautiful new house. While some rooms had been relatively recently decorated, they weren’t to the family’s taste and other rooms were in desperate need of some care and attention.

The family wanted to add colour and warmth to the house to make it their own and with a little encouragement were bold with their choices in the unconventional use of colour on ceilings and woodwork to give some stunning finished effects. A wornderfully unique home.

The Kitchen.

Ombre feature wall anyone?

While the original blue walls in this kitchen might be on trend for some, the new owners of this lovely property didn't find it quite to their taste and wanted to make the most of all the fabulous natural light with a warm, bright and airy feel to the heart of their home

Walls were brightened up with Johnstone's Paints acrylic durable matt, tinted to Farrow & Ball schoolhouse white to provide a durable, washable finish to the kitchen area.

For that amazing feature wall on the chimney breast, adding a pop of colour, we used the same paint tinted to Valspar peach rose, Farrow & Ball schoolhouse white and finally a flat brilliant white, blending all three together to get that fabulous ombre effect using the Q-Tech qt190 airless spray system

The kitchen island was also sprayed to add a final warm accent colour, in Farrow & Ball's Nancy's blushes in an eggshell finish.

The Living Room.

We love the classic choice of colours used here. Walls were finished in Farrow and Ball’s Lulworth Blue, with the ceiling and woodwork a stunning bright white.

Make it stand out.

The fire surround and door were also finished in Lulworth blue, in an eggshell finish to complete this stunning transformation.

The Master Bedroom.

A refreshing design twist, with stunning results for the Master Bedroom.

We used Farrow and Ball’s Wimborne White for the walls and then the door and ceiling finished in Calamine, brought a quarter of the way down the walls, to give a really interesting and beautiful finished space

The Second Living Room

Period Feature Envy? (Us too!)

Isn’t this just the most stunning space? Our client chose light and airy colours to reflect the natural light pouring in through the bay window, making the bold choice once again of stepping away from the traditional white ceiling and opting for a colour to enhance and draw your attention to it’s beautiful period features. Bringing the colour a third of the way down the walls and onto the fireplace wall adds cohesion and gives the illusion of an even larger room and higher ceiling.

Max’s Room.

We set our brilliant apprentice Abi a challenge to try something different to finish this little boy's room and boy did she deliver!

In with the new.

To start with all imperfections on the walls were filled and sanded to a flat finish, and the rear walls and area for the circle were painted using Lick White01. We then sketched a circle in the corner of the room and Abi did an awesome job cutting in to it using lick Blue05 and painting the rest of the 2 walls to match. To enhance the door, we then painted the 4 panel frames in the White01 and finished the rest of the door to match the walls in Blue05
